Prenatal Care at Aayush Hospital & Maternity Home
First Trimester :
Body changes during pregnancy are quite common and normal. The first trimester starts on the first day of your last period and lasts until the 12th week. A lot of physiological and hormonal changes take place during this phase as the baby grows the fastest in this trimester. Starting from a fertilized egg, the baby’s bones, muscles, and organs form by the 12th week.
The first trimester requires a variety of lab investigations and tests, which our skilled team of doctors at Motherhood is well equipped with.

Second Trimester:
Pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks. Pregnancy is divided into three periods of time — first, second, and third trimester. Each trimester is roughly around 14 weeks long. When you enter your second trimester, you are around 14 weeks pregnant. The second (2nd) Trimester of pregnancy starts from week number 14 and ends at week number 27.
The second trimester of pregnancy is considered to be the best part of pregnancy. For many pregnant women, their first-trimester issues like fatigue, and morning sickness will go away in this trimester Your baby will continue developing during this trimester in terms of getting additional weight and taking on the features of a newborn.

Third Trimester
The third (3rd) trimester begins at the 28th week of your pregnancy and lasts until the delivery, which may be around week 40. In terms of months, the third trimester can be considered from the 7th month of your pregnancy till delivery. The third trimester is about 13 weeks long.

High Risk Pregnancy management at Aayush Maternity Home??
Managing a high-risk pregnancy involves careful monitoring and a tailored approach to ensure the health of both the mother and the baby. A high-risk pregnancy is a pregnancy that has increased health risks for the pregnant woman and the baby. These pregnancies require close monitoring to reduce the chance of complications.

Gestational Diabetes Mellitus:
- Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) or simply gestational diabetes is a condition in which pregnant women develop high blood sugar. In gestational diabetes, women have normal blood sugar levels before pregnancy but the blood glucose levels rise during pregnancy (usually between the 24th and 28th week). The blood sugar levels usually go down to normal after the birth of the baby.
Pregnancy Hypertension
- High blood pressure or hypertension, is a condition in which the blood exerts a high amount of force or pressure on the walls of the artery. It is a very common health problem and affects millions of people all over the world. It can lead to serious complications and heart diseases which may have fatal consequences.
Thyroid symptoms & pregnancy
- The thyroid is a small butterfly-shaped gland situated in the neck. The thyroid gland secretes thyroid hormones which are extremely important as they influence almost all the metabolic activities in the body. Hence, abnormal production of thyroid hormones causes various health issues and ailments.

- When a fertilised egg implants and grows outside the main cavity of the uterus it is termed as Ectopic Pregnancy. It often occurs in the fallopian tubes, which carry the egg from the ovaries to the uterus. This type of ectopic pregnancy is called a tubal pregnancy.
- An ectopic pregnancy can’t proceed normally as the fertilized egg can’t survive, and the growing tissue may cause life-threatening bleeding if left untreated.
